Business Analyst Insurance Software

BG

You can join a high-performing international team dedicated to software engineering for leading global (re-)insurers.

About the project

Our client is a global leader in the insurance sector. In this role, you will analyze pricing processes and support their integration into a unified international IT environment. The technology stack includes Java, Python, Azure and AWS clouds, GitHub, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, and more.

About the role

You will work closely with clients - both on the business and IT side - as well as product owners and development teams, translating business needs into clear requirements and ensuring that implemented solutions create real value. This role offers excellent opportunities for personal and professional growth.

Your responsibilities

  • Gathering requirements by interviewing stakeholders, running workshops, reviewing documents, and clarifying what the business truly needs - not just initial requests.
  • Working with developers, testers, and project managers to ensure the delivered solution matches requirements, supporting testing activities, and validating that outcomes meet business goals.
  • Representing Solveva in client meetings with developers and business experts.
  • Staying up to date with actuarial methods and software engineering trends.
  • Documenting functional and non‑functional requirements, proposing process changes or system features, and outlining scope and impacts.
  • Proactively participating in SAFe ceremonies and client workshops.
  • Reviewing software design proposals when specifying new features.
  • Documenting user stories, business processes, and software requirements.
  • Ensuring timely deployments by monitoring progress and supporting teams so that solutions are delivered according to schedule.

Your skills and experience

Collaboration is key in our daily work - both internally and with clients. Therefore, your personality and work style should align with Solveva’s culture from the start:

  • Strong ability to clearly communicate and connect with technical and non‑technical audiences.
  • Ability to empathize with clients, partners, and offshore colleagues; manage expectations; and promote collaboration across teams.
  • Enjoy working in a team and actively engage in discussions.
  • Strong analytical thinking skills.
  • Ability to take personal responsibility for delivery and manage uncertainty.
  • Skilled in giving engaging presentations, producing clear reports, and ensuring proper documentation.
  • Willingness to incorporate client input into specific implementations.
  • Readiness to learn, apply, and share knowledge of new technologies used in daily work.

Additionally, you will need:

  • University degree in a quantitative field (e.g., mathematics, statistics, economics, actuarial science, or related). A PhD is a strong plus.
  • 3–5 years of experience in quantitative fields within commercial insurance and/or reinsurance.
  • Solid understanding of programming paradigms.
  • Practical experience with Python is a strong plus.
  • Actuarial certification is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodology for project management (SAFe preferred).
  • Business fluency in English; German is a strong plus.
