Senior Frontend Developer

BG, GE, PT

You can join a high-performing international team dedicated to software engineering for leading global (re-)insurers.

About the project‍

If you enjoy collaborating closely with other highly talented developers on ambitious and exciting software, then this could be your project! We are building Actus, a suite of solutions covering core (re-)insurance processes such as loss modelling, pricing, and capital modelling, in a highly customisable manner to help transacting the world’s most complex risks.

All the challenging UIs look like they are bespoke, but in fact they are created with our self-developed low-code platform which allows for almost arbitrarily complex workflows and visuals. The further development of this platform will be your focus.

Technically, Actus is using TypeScript (React, NodeJS, Express, NestJS) for both frontend and backend. TypeScript and Python can be used to implement actuarial algorithms. The scope of the application and the client base will increase over time.

What you´ll be doing:

  • Collaborating closely with your FE colleagues within cross-functional agile teams: UX designers, QAs, BEs, business analysts, and the PO
  • Creating user-friendly, cutting-edge web applications using React, Typescript, HTML, CSS
  • Optimising web applications for maximum performance
  • Supporting and building frontend components, establishing best practices, and defining timelines
  • Actively participating in refinement sessions, collaboratively contributing on the enhancement of acceptance criteria
  • Encouraging technical discussions for continuous product improvement
  • Staying up to date on the latest and emerging technologies
  • Engaging with stakeholders across various levels and backgrounds, offering support and analytical problem-solving to address project complexities

Your skills and your experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree related to IT or an equivalent practical track record
  • English proficiency (minimum B2 level)
  • At least 4 years of professional experience as a frontend developer
  • At least +1 year of recent professional experience with TypeScript
  • Strong practical skills in HTML, CSS, and UX/UI design
  • Expertise in innovative user experience designs
  • Experience in working with continuous integration and delivery tools
  • Excellent knowledge of browser troubleshooting and debugging practices and techniques
  • Understanding of agile methodology for project management (SAFe is a plus)
  • A collaborative mindset and a passion for supporting your team
  • Enjoying cooperating with and supporting your team members

Will be a plus

  • Some backend knowledge (Node.js, Express, Nest.js)
  • Familiarity with UI/UX related tools e.g. Figma, Sketch

Reasons you’ll love working here

  • Over 90% of our staff would recommend or strongly recommend working at Solveva to their friends and family.
  • We are an owner-operated company – our leadership keeps its promises.
  • Small teams collaborate in a friendly atmosphere.
  • We have a flat structure with little bureaucracy.
  • Our culture of trust gives you flexibility for remote, office, or hybrid work.
  • You get a budget for further education, additional equipment, or your health club of choice.
  • We provide you with your choice of hardware: Windows (Dell, Lenovo) or Mac (Pro, Air).
